About TED

TED is a nonprofit devoted to spreading ideas, usually in the form of short, powerful talks (18 minutes or less). TED began in 1984 as a conference where Technology, Entertainment, and Design converged, and today covers almost all topics — from science to business to global issues — in more than 100 languages.

TED is a global community, welcoming people from every discipline and culture who seek a deeper understanding of the world. TED believes passionately in the power of ideas to change attitudes, lives and, ultimately, the world.

Evolving out of the success of TED, the TEDx initiative was created in the spirit of TED’s mission, “ideas worth spreading.” TEDx supports independent organizers who want to create a TED-like event in their own community. TEDx events are planned and coordinated independently, under a free license granted by TED.

Our Story

TEDxDavangere is an independently organized event licensed by TED, initiated by a group of passionate individuals committed to bringing thought-provoking ideas and fresh perspectives to our community. 2024 marks the first-ever TEDxDavangere, creating a new platform for thinkers, innovators, and change-makers in Davangere and the surrounding regions.

This inaugural event will celebrate the rich cultural heritage, entrepreneurial spirit, and academic excellence that define Davangere, connecting local voices with a global audience. Our goal is to inspire, educate, and ignite meaningful conversations that drive positive change in our community.

As we take our first steps, TEDxDavangere aims to become a hub for innovative ideas and a gathering place for those passionate about shaping the future of our community. By providing a platform for local stories and groundbreaking ideas, we hope to foster collaboration, spark new initiatives, and strengthen the bonds within Davangere and beyond.

We envision TEDxDavangere as an annual event that will grow into a beacon of inspiration, putting Davangere on the map as a center for creativity and forward-thinking ideas.
